Last November, I challenged myself to create a short animation on my own in just a few days, replacing my usual Maya/Renderman combo with Blender/Cycles for rendering. I really wanted a physical depth of field, so I rendered it directly in Blender, and I loved the result!
Even though the modeling, rigging, and animation were done in Maya, I really loved Blender for the look development and lighting. I also used Houdini for the various FX, Substance Painter for the texturing and Nuke for the compositing, with DaVinci Resolve for editing.
